In addition, the programme connects beyond statutory services and into the independent and voluntary sectors as well as working directly with disabled people and their families and supporters to influence the local delivery of policy.

You can find news and information about all aspects of Choice and Control along with regional case studies at the Putting People First website.

young disabled=There is a high standard of health and social care provision in the North West with all centres providing a good or excellent service.

This focus raise the bar higher in its aim to  further improve  standards. Knowledge Management is the regional platform for the  collection, organisation and sharing of knowledge relevant to all programmes and workstreams. Safeguarding works with local authorities and other partners to disseminate information on the care of vulnerable adults, while  workstreams Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards supports local authorities and other partners meet their  local statuory responsibilities.

Working to transform adult health and social care

older lady enoying a visit from her Community NurseThe Key Interfaces programme as set out in the NWJIP One Plan 2010/11 shows the key areas of connection and linkage the NWJIP programmes and work streams make from within their own programme activity to national policy areas of activity such as health inequalities and mental health.

This interface between NWJIP activity and national priority areas leads to greater alignment of regional and national activity and reduces the likelihood of duplication of activity.

The One Plan 2010/11 shows where the NWJIP key interfaces sit for the coming year. The yellow boxes show where governance for each key interface area sits. While the green arrows shown on the One Plan show the alignment between NWJIP programmes and work streams and the national policy areas highlighted in the Key Interfaces column.
