This part of the NWJIP website is aimed primarily at commissioners of adult health and wellbeing services in local government, the NHS and other agencies in the North West.
It is a way of sharing practice around the region by offering advice, case studies and links to other websites. The website supports joint strategic commissioning in the North West. It has four sections in addition to the events and resources sections to be found elsewhere on the NWJIP website:
- What is commissioning in the North West?
- North West glossary
- North West Commissioning principles
- North West Commissioners Skills Development
The Roadmap was originally developed by the Institute of Public Care for ADASS North West, NHS North West, the North West Joint Improvement Partnership, and the regional arm of the Department of Health. NWJIP continues to support the original website at www.northwestroadmap.org.uk as a source of updates and information on national policy and research but with regional content being reflected on this website. The leadership in the North West aim to use both websites to encourage more consistent commissioning practice across the region. We would like to hear about good practice or topics which you would like to see featured in the Roadmap in the future - contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We hope that this site is an easy to use, easy to understand resource that all commissioners in the North West can adapt for their own use. Through the use of forums on the NWJIP site we hope to expand its scope to become an interactive site that supports a regional network of commissioners, around which a range of development activities can be built.
